Structure drawings: arch, circle, backdrop, podium

The «Drawings» tool in an order of the «Production» section draws an A3 sheet with three views of a structure (front, top and side) and dimensions from your figures in millimeters. Templates: arch, circle, oval, wall with a niche, backdrop, podium and box. A drawing goes through the «Draft», «Checked» and «Approved» statuses, downloads as PDF and SVG, and goes into the estimate as a line with one button. Available in beta to everyone, no invitation needed.

How to use it

  1. Open an order, the «Prepare for the workshop» stage, and click «Open the drawings» (or «Add a construction») on the «Drawings» card. The tool is marked «Beta». On the left is the «Structures» list, in the middle the drawing sheet, on the right the sizes and the estimate.
  2. Click «Add a construction» and choose a template: «Arch», «Circle», «Oval», «Wall with a niche», «Backdrop», «Podium» or «Box». The name is filled in from the template, for example «Backdrop», or «Backdrop 2» if there is one already. You can replace it with your own, for example «Registration arch». Click «Add». If you clear the name, «Enter a name for the construction» appears next to the field.
  3. On the right, in the «Parameters» card (its header names the template, for example «Parameters: arch»), replace the template's starting sizes with your own. Sizes are entered in whole millimeters: 2.4 m is 2400 mm. If a number is out of the allowed range, a hint appears right under the field, and the sheet disappears until the size is fixed.
  4. The sheet in the middle is redrawn right away as you type the figures. Click «Save sizes»: the saved sizes become a new revision. «Discard changes» brings back the saved figures.
  5. When a person has checked the shape and sizes, click «Mark as checked». Then the person in charge clicks «Approve». Under the buttons you can see who checked and approved the drawing, and when.
  6. The «PDF» and «SVG» buttons download the A3 sheet: three views with dimensions, the scale and a title block with the name, status, revision, author and the person who checked it.
  7. In the «Estimate» card click «To the estimate»: a line for this structure is added to the project estimate. The «Open the estimate» link leads to the «Estimate» tool.

Templates and sizes

  • «Arch»: width, height, depth and «Post and band». In «Top of the arch» choose «Half-round», «Ellipse» or «Flat». For an ellipse you set «Top height, mm».
  • «Circle» and «Oval» are switched in the «Shape» field, and the sizes carry over from one shape to the other. A circle has one diameter, so its height always equals its width. If an oval's width and height match, «Equal axes: this is a circle» appears with a «Make it a circle» button.
  • Radius and diameter are linked: enter one and the other is recalculated by itself. If the pair does not match, AURA says «Radius and diameter disagree».
  • A circle and an oval can have a base plate: «Base: width, mm» and «Base: depth, mm». Zeros mean there is no base.
  • «Wall with a niche»: the wall's width, height and depth, the niche sizes, and the niche's offset from the left edge and from the floor. «Top of the niche»: «Rectangular» or «Semicircular». The niche must fit inside the wall.
  • «Backdrop»: width, height, depth, the number of panels and the frame profile. «Podium» and «Box»: width, depth and height.
  • Each field has its own limits, for example an arch's width from 600 to 12,000 mm, a backdrop's width up to 30,000 mm, a podium's height from 50 to 2000 mm. If a number does not fit, the allowed range is shown under the field.

Statuses and revisions

  • A new drawing is always a «Draft»: the template's starting sizes must be replaced with confirmed ones and checked.
  • The status changes one step at a time. «Mark as checked» is available for a saved draft, «Approve» only after the check. While there are unsaved sizes, both buttons are inactive: «Save the sizes first: the status is set on a saved drawing».
  • Any change of a size or template after the check returns the drawing to «Draft» and creates a new revision. AURA warns you about this before saving, and afterwards shows «Sizes changed after the check. The status is back to draft, a new check is needed».
  • The «Drawing versions» button under the sheet shows all revisions: the sizes, the status, who saved them and when.
  • If a colleague changed the drawing at the same time, «The drawing has already been changed. Refresh the page» appears. Click «Refresh»: the latest version loads and your unsaved figures are reset.

The drawing and the estimate

  • «To the estimate» adds one line to the «Structures» section of the project estimate: the structure name, 1 pc and a note with the revision and sizes. The line has no price: enter the cost and materials in the estimate yourself.
  • Clicking again does not create a second line. The button is called «Update the estimate line» and rewrites the name and sizes in the same line; the prices stay as they were.
  • If the sizes changed after the line was written to the estimate, the structure in the list shows «Estimate: needs a recount», and the «Estimate» card says «After the change the estimate is marked: needs a recount». Click «Update the estimate line» and check the prices.
  • While the sizes are not saved, the button is inactive. If a colleague changed the estimate at that moment, AURA asks you to click again.
  • Deleting a drawing deletes all its revisions. The estimate lines stay but lose their link to the drawing.

Beta: open to everyone

  • «Drawings» are part of «Production» and since 4 October 2026 are open to every account, no invitation needed. In an order the tool is visible only to the owner and editors. An AURA administrator can close the module again to everyone except invited people on the «Beta access» tab: if you do not see the tool, write to support.
  • The «Beta feedback» button in the tool header sends the AURA team short feedback: what you noticed and what gets in the way.

Good to know

  • Sizes are entered by a person. AURA does not calculate sizes from a picture without a scale: you can take the shape from a visualization, but take the figures from measurements, the venue plan or the brief. The «Open the floor plan» link in the «Where sizes come from» card leads to the project's plans.
  • The drawing does not set tolerances, fasteners or materials: production specifies them. The sheet says so in the notes.
  • The purple dimensions on the sheet are linked to the parameters on the right: change a field and the dimension on the sheet changes.
  • A project can have up to 200 drawings.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why is the sheet empty? There is an error in the sizes, and under the sheet it says «Fix the sizes on the right and the drawing will appear». Find the field with the hint and fix the number.
  • Why can't I click «Approve»? First save the sizes and click «Mark as checked».
  • Why is the drawing a «Draft» again? Someone saved new sizes after the check. Check the revision in «Drawing versions» and mark it as checked again.
  • Where is the price of the structure? The drawing does not calculate a price: the line arrives in the estimate without a price, and the studio fills it in.

Drawings from the phone

In the mobile app, open a project or a production order, then «Drawings». Choose one of the seven templates, set the sizes in millimeters and save. Touch the sheet to look at the three views with gestures.

After checking, mark «Checked» and «Approved» in turn. Changing the geometry creates a new revision and returns the draft state. The history opens the earlier sheets.

PDF A3 and SVG are saved through the system menu. «Send to estimate» adds a linked line without a price or updates an existing one, keeping its prices. A participant with view rights can look at and export the sheets; changing them requires editing rights.
