Active sign-ins: the devices where your account is open
The «Active sign-ins» page (formerly «Active sessions») shows where your account is open and on how many devices it can be open at once, and helps you end sign-ins you do not need.
Reviewed:
How to use it
- Open «Profile» and, in the «Security and documents» block, press «Active sign-ins»: the number of devices stands beside the name.
- Check the devices. «This device» comes first, marked «now»; the others say when they were last active. Below the heading, it says on how many devices the account can be open at once.
- To close a sign-in you do not need, press «End sign-in» at that device and confirm: it will have to sign in again there. «End all other sign-ins» leaves the account open only on this device. The «Sign out» button on the «This device» row ends your sign-in here.
What to keep in mind
- An account can be open on no more than 3 devices at once; the number is set by the administrator and shown under the heading of the page. Administrator accounts have no limit.
- Signing in beyond the limit ends the session that has gone unused the longest. On that device, the next action shows «You signed in on another device», and you will need to sign in again.
- One account is meant for one person. To work together, do not share your password: invite a colleague to the project, and they will have their own sign-in.
- Ending a sign-in is not the same as revoking a project member's rights.
- If your session has expired, sign in again. Make sure you sign in to the right account.
