Frames, «Show» and exporting the board

A frame groups a part of the board. The «Frames» panel on the right works as the table of contents of the board and the order of the slides, «Show» switches the frames like slides, and any frame can be downloaded as PDF, PNG or JPEG.

How to use it

  1. Click «Frame» on the tool rail (or press F) or «New frame» under the list in the «Frames» panel. On a phone «Frame» is in «More». You can also select several objects and click «Group into a frame» on the dark bar over the selection.
  2. Place the materials you need inside the frame, give it a name and check what it contains.
  3. The «Frames» panel is on the right under the top bar: it is the table of contents of the board and the order of the show. Clicking a frame takes you to it, the current frame is highlighted, and under the name the number of objects is written. The «⋯» menu of a frame: «Download PDF», «Download PNG», «Show earlier», «Show later», «Open the chat of this frame», «Frame chat settings» and «A separate chat for this frame»; a frame can also be dragged to change the order. The panel collapses with the button in its header and remembers that; while the discussion, the history or the options of an object are open on the right, it gives them the room. On a phone the list opens as the «Frames» sheet from «More».
  4. Click «Show» in the top bar (or ▶ next to a frame in the list, «Present from this frame», to start from it). To leave the show, use the close button or Esc.
  5. To download a frame, select it and open «More actions» (three dots) on the dark bar over it: «Download PDF» comes first, then «Download PNG». The same items are in the «⋯» menu of the frame in the «Frames» panel, where the frame does not need to be selected. The «⋯» menu of the top bar has «Download the frame as PDF», «Download the frame as PNG» and «Download the frame as JPEG» for the selected frame. On a phone, select the frame and open «⋯» in the top bar or «⋯» next to the frame in the «Frames» sheet.

What goes into the file

  • The PDF is one page in the proportions of the frame: the long side is that of an A4 sheet, and a tall frame gives a portrait page. The page holds the same picture of the frame as the PNG.
  • Everything inside the frame goes into the file: photos, stickers, texts in their chosen fonts (your studio's own fonts included), the captions of products and their price per day. The selection, the cursors of participants and other service marks of the board do not.
  • While the file is being made, the download items are grey with the note «Preparing the file…». A frame with many photos takes a few seconds.
  • If the frame holds an unfinished generation, the file is not made: wait for the result or take it out of the frame.
  • Any participant of the board can download a frame, including those who may only view it: from «⋯» next to the frame in the «Frames» panel or from «⋯» in the top bar.

Good to know

  • If «Show» is inactive, there are no frames on the board: the hint next to it explains that they need to be added. Photos or stickers alone do not create slides.
  • If the download items in the «⋯» menu of the top bar are grey with the note «Select a frame first», select the whole frame, not an object inside it, or download it from the «⋯» menu of the frame in the «Frames» panel. Wait until the changes are saved.
  • Showing the board does not create a public link. Colleagues get access in the «Team and access» window (the «Team» button). For a separate client link, use a presentation, if it is available.
  • The zoom percentage in the bottom right corner fits the board to the screen, and «Show» starts the demonstration of the frames. These are different commands.

Frames on the phone

A frame joins cards and lets you save the chosen area as a separate file. The properties set the exact sizes and whether a card belongs to the frame. Deleting a frame together with its contents needs confirmation.

Showing frames on the phone

On the mobile board open the frame show. Switch frames with a swipe or the buttons, jump to the first and the last. The order comes from the frame settings. The show does not change the contents of the board and uses only the cards available to you.
